I'm building a new blog that allows 125x125 square ads. I want to add my Entrecard ads in one space, and allow others to place ads there once I get it all going right.

I can't figure out how to do it!  :'(  I've checked the text file that came with the download, but it only refers people to the maker's blog, but still no response to my question.

Does anyone have a detailed post on exactly how to do it? I know I need to upload the image onto the server, but how/where? Then what?  rundecided

I hate being wordpress clueless, but I'll eventually figure it out.

The blog in process is at http://www.dentalaggregate.com   (be kind)  rtongue

I've sent an email with a link to Sephy's how to FTP article. rwink

That gets the image onto the server. What happens next, I have no idea. I've never used these 125x125 blocks - anyone with a clue?

Yep I've got that link, and have been reading it over and over. Once I get the filezilla thingy right, I should be able to do the ads on my own. Thanks.

Gosh I hate feeling so dumb. I've managed to upload an image with FTP for the first time, but how do I find what the url would be for the image so I can use the http:blahblahblah for images? I swear I'm going to figure this stuff out if it kills me!

Don't feel dumb.  It took me a while to figure it out too.  I can't tell you the url because that depends on the folder you uploaded it to and the main folders aren't always the same depending on your host.

If it is in the same folder (probably httpdocs) as the wp-admin / wp-content etc folders are in the url would be yoursite.com/imagename.jpg

if you've put it somewhere else in the foldertree, just add the foldernames between backslashes.  for example...

yoursite.com/wp-content/uploads/imagename.jpg

ok.. with our server, httpdocs is the base folder. That is always the first folder you should open when you log into filezilla. If you want something to be viewable it has to go somewhere in httpdocs.

So, if you open httpdocs and then upload a file into there, it will be http://www.domainname.com/filename

If you go further into the directories, you need to add each directory you enter before you upload the file into the url.

eg - if you log in and open httpdocs, then open wp-content, your file is at http://www.domainname.com/wp-content/filename.

Your file is at http://www.dentalaggregate.com/wp-content/tellingitlikeitis.jpg

So, you've managed to FTP now. rwink well done!
