Thought I'd start a list of Australia specific blog resources.
It's probably a good idea to make sure your blog is listed in the following directories/search.
Australian Blog Search
Australian Blogs
Australian Blogs Community on BUMPzee
Gnoos
The Australian Index
(Of course there are some global ones to - these are just the oz ones)
"Top" Lists
Top 100 Australian Blogs
Top 50 Australian Women's Blogs
Ratified

For those who have smaller blogs that don't make it into those "top lists", or those who are new to blogging, is there anywhere that can give them an indication of where they stand relative to other Australian bloggers? Or is this something that has to be calculated manually?

Hi Lightening
Probably a manual calc is the only way, although you can list your blog with ratified & it will give you a ranking provided you have claimed your blog on Technorati.
Their formula is
Score = (t x .55) + (PRx100) + (f.b x 3.75) .
where t= number of unique blogs linking ("authority") PR is Google PageRank & f.b is the number of feed burner subscribers.
For more info see
http://australialiving.blogspot.com/2007/08/getting-to-know-ratified.html
and
http://blogpond.com.au/2007/08/22/another-top-100-australian-bloggers-list/
for more info about Ratified.
********************
Blogpond formula is (3 x AU + X + T) /5. where:
AU = Alexa Rank in Australia
X = Global Alexa Rank
T = Technorati Rank
See
http://blogpond.com.au/about-the-index/
for more info
******************
All for Women formula is
(AU + T)/2
See
http://www.allforwomen.com.au/top-50-australian-womens-blogs/
(at the bottom) for more info.

and there are these Aussie Blog Rolls maintained by
Snoskred
at
A to Z Blog roll
Z to A Blog roll
Add them to your Blog sidebar. If everyone does this, we can all get a high Technorati Authority

Can someone clever out there create a page where we simply type in our blog URL and the calculation is done for us?
I'm sure it would drive a lot of traffic to your blog with people checking back for their rating!
Cheers,
Craig
