I've been slowly "Stumbling" through these.  With so many great new blogs to check out because of the forum I'm finding it really handy for getting to know a little bit more about them.  So I hope a few more of you add to the list.  Thanks guys!  rgrin

I noticed the traffic increase! Thank you!  rsmiley

What blog post do you think is your best ever?

It could be for many reasons -

- most views
- best writing
- turned out exactly how you wanted it to when you thought of the post in your head
- most comments
- most linked to by others

I'll answer this one later but I thought I'd like to see some links from others - it may be a post I missed out on reading! rwink

(feel free to link to more than one!)  rgrin

And I thought I'd give this one a bump, because it's been a month and we have so many new members.  So come on guys.  Share the goodies!  xwink

Without a doubt my personal favorite would have to be Dear Christa which was my response to all those lovely spam emails we all love so much. I didn't really plan it, and just sat down and wrote it one go. I totally love how it came out. Thought my english teacher would have been proud of me too!  xgrin

As for the most popular, that would have to Penis Extensions but really only because of searches. I do love the post too though! It is a repost from my old blog, but I don't care  xtongue

And last but not least, we have this one called 'the next olympic sport', which features one of your moderators  rcool

There are others...and in a way I'm kinda glad I had to sort of think about it and go through the archives a bit. Reminds me of what kind of blogging I used to do before I got this LIFE thing! Need to lose it methinks.....

Mine would have to be: http://www.figandcherry.com/reviews/my-gorgeous-wedding-cake/

It's about my wedding cake, which I was scarily obsessed with pre-wedding and have been unhealthily bragging about ever since (it's only been 6 weeks) - that's OK slash normal, right?

My best in terms of consistent traffic and long comments was a review I did of a show called "Beyound the Dark Side - The Pink Floyd Experience". I get hits from all around the world as the band tours from people checking out reviews of them.

Here it is: http://www.searchtempoblog.com/index.php/the-pink-floyd-experience-brisbane-performance-3-nov-2007-review/

I also get a large percent of my traffic from Google image search on the term "bitch slap". God know why sooo many people are searching on "bitch slap". Here's the post: http://www.searchtempoblog.com/index.php/the-big-google-pagerank-slap/

As far as online arguments are concerned, my favourite is a review of the bigroo search engine. The owner of the company got stuck into me and a few readers came to my defence. Here's the post: http://www.searchtempoblog.com/index.php/why-i-have-my-doubts-about-big-roo/

I guess what I've learnt in the short time I've been blogging is that product and service reviews do generate traffic and the Internet is a random place where chaos reigns!

Corrr what a question... how to measure this then - hmmm... xhuh xwink

Me personally - well the few that are standouts for me are:

http://belongum.wordpress.com/2006/06/06/40/

http://belongum.wordpress.com/2006/03/25/34/

http://belongum.wordpress.com/2007/10/09/of-warships-and-women/

Sadly I yarn a lot, and I enjoy wandering about a topic or three close to my heart!

But for others I think this was one of the blogs that resonated the most:

http://belongum.wordpress.com/2007/07/08/58/

It was nicely simple - and held a lot of feeling in it...

I'll leave it to you to decide xsmiley

I've only got a dozen or so up myself so far, but here's one that went up about a few days ago I thought was probably the best of my current bunch. Just a light hearted reflection on the first day of the year when the grade of kids actually clicked into gear and things started falling into place.

When the grade starts to purr...

I liked a few of the off-centre descriptions I used for various antics of the kids in this one, and the quiet humour I tried to put in alongside it. Because your job shouldn't always sound serious...

My most popular article would be this one I wrote on Working From Home, Motivation and Accountability.. It's got the most views, a couple of really good reply comments, the most Diggs I've ever had (3) and a couple of published pingbacks..

My favourite article would be my Teriyaki Chicken recipe, it's my favourite because it's such a tasty dish and for 3 hole days I was the number 1 result on Google.com and Google.com.au for the search term Teriyaki Chicken!

I'm going to have to go through all the prior posts here and checkout everyone else's now!

My most popular by far has been a pin cushion tutorial that I wrote a few months ago, it's been linked from all over the place, lots of craft websites having competitions to see who can make the best one, about.com have it linked in one of their articles and I generate a lot of traffic from that as well. It has over three times the views of the nearest post to it, another tutorial.

http://fern.wordpress.com/2007/11/24/fantabulous-pincushion-tutorial/

And I don't really have a personal favourite, sentimentally I quite like the post I made to announce my son's birth, but it's nothing fabulous in the slightest.

Best (most popular) by far has been Australia to Legalise Airsoft

I was actually kind of surprised by the interest. I still get a large number of search engine hits from it...

I absolutely hate this post, however it has proven to be my most popular by hits; Hairdresser Game.

This post is my most popular by comments; What's inside VB Warnie?

I just edited this to include the post that I put the most thought into even though it attracted very little interest; Rage against junk mail

My favourite posts are rarely the most popular but then I am polymorpheus perverse. This one is one of the rare times when popular opinion and mine coincided. It's called "Critics" and has gathered 60 comments so far.

My personal favourites based on that they really turned out the way I envisioned them and that I felt I actually had good stuff to share were these two.

Easiest Herbal Remedy Ever

Is Black Cohosh Safe?

Based on most visitors it was this one (which I thought was just a boring announcement but hey, what do I know rcool)

Gardening Australia Expo - Brisbane

I once was quite unhappy in my work life, so I started to craft a blog post about it. It made me realise how little sense it made in my life.

So the next day, I quit. It was really, really satisfying.

So in terms of my favourite post, in terms of personal impact it has to be this one.

Burnout vs Boreout

Great list people btw!

My most visited post was when I named the AFL players named in the drugs scandal after Channel Seven "discovered" medical documents. I left the details online for a couple of days longer than mainstream media, but removed them after Seven withdrew its court appeal against the suppression.

I've had 113 comments on a book review about Cloudstreet. Apparently it's a school text, so all these students are searching for it  xsmiley

My personal favorite post is a reflection on the generational cusp, rarely deep and meaningful for me.

This is only my second post here rtongue

I am particularly proud of two of my entries. Not necessarily because they got a lot of comments or shout-outs, but I liked the way they turned out. The first was my tribute to a Marieke Hardy-style of writing. The second was one of the most serious topics I've addressed in the time the blog has been active.

1. "Man's Dance", about former aerobics athlete Anthony Ikin's progress on So You Think You Can Dance, and what a gymnastics enthusiast thinks about boys in ballet slippers. I laughed to myself while writing it, and I'm glad that others laughed while reading it.
http://ozgymnastics.blogspot.com/2008/03/mans-dance.html

2. "Athletes in a Topical Climate", about the role of adult men in gymnastics and the sport's reputation as being a breeding ground for male predators in light of an incident in the USA.
http://ozgymnastics.blogspot.com/2008/04/athletes-in-topical-climate.html
The guy that commented on it is a friend of mine who is a coach and competiton announcer, and who has a great rapport with athletes, both novice and elite.

I would have to give an Honourable Mention to my brief acclamation of Swedish national coach and commentator Staffan Soderberg.
http://ozgymnastics.blogspot.com/2008/01/staffan-sderberg-listening-womans.html
It was the first post to get an international comment.

That one is the most popular, as it was featured in a feminist blog carnival.

This one got the most e-mails (But not comments, strangely)

And the two I love the most

My best post would have to be

9 Things The Non-Tech Savvy Do That Annoy Geeks

I don't have exact traffic stats for it because it completely destroyed my site, in fact I think it destroyed my host, they claimed it was a DoS attack, which it well may have been.

As per usual, the traffic all came from digg.com and had 3309 diggs with 652 comments. To this day it still brings me the most amount of traffic. Was really cool to see that many people enjoy my post.

It's been stumbled a few times and is one of my favourite posts.
