Senior first aid course
«

Hi All,
I recently been to a seniors first aid course. Very interesting. I didn't know all the rules changed.
Like for CPR is now 30 compression to 2 breaths. I think it used to be 15 to 1?
Heard about all the legal issues about treat or not to treat if you see someone laying on the floor.
Fingers crossed I won't have to come across the situation.
I never knew about tapping on the shoulder is an offence!
We didn't have too much chance to go through bites.
Does anyone have much experience with bite?

Claudia, not sure why you brought this here to a bloggers forum? Unless you plan to start blogging on that topic?

Well, I thought it was important that we all aware of what to do in
an emergency so we could help each other out without getting into
"trouble" or legal issues. I certainly would like someone to help me out
if I am laying on the ground

Thank you very much. I was told to have a group of 4 if I want to go bushwalking. However, none of us have much idea what to do with bites and stings. Apparently, they are constantly updating treatment.

No worries! Happy bushwalking and be sure to watch out for the drop bears. There's no recovering from them.

Hi, we came back in one piece from early morning bushwalking. Didn't see any drop bears!
By the time we got home, my friend's neck was swollen. It was red, raised and hard. I can see a huge tick in his neck. I just applied some vaseline on top, and told him to see the doctor. Does anyone know the best way to remove a tick! We have so many bandicoot in our garden. We can't get rid of them and we can't get rid of ticks!
