I may be getting older, but I refuse to grow up

I'm doing it tomorrow.

Upgrade to 2.8 I mean.

Would be interested to know if anyone has done it yet. I'm about to head over and see what, if any, problems there are, but feel free to post here if you fancy.

Lee mentioned today on twitter that he had upgraded to 2.8 with no probs. He didn't specify 2.8.1 though.......

Yeah, I've got about 10, but the auto upgrade plugin makes it a whole lot easier...

oh for sure! Unfortunately, less than half of mine are on Hostgator, where the auto upgrade works. The others are on a server where I need to change the permissions manually to do that (and then manually change them back)... so a little bit more messing around.

Still, it's better than it used to be rsmiley

After 10 of my blogs got hacked again last night notwithstanding changing directory permissions up the Kazoo, I updated to 2.8 this morning. So far, so good. Very straightforward using the autoupdate thang.

Hardest part was finding the username and password for FTP access.

UPDATE:

I don't like the new interface to add widgets to the sidebar. It's a drag and drop affair. I'd rather have a click to add interface. It takes me about 5 times as long to add widgets.  rangry

That's the problem with hacked accounts - you don't know what they've done or left in there that will help them get back in later rsad

Sometimes a backup of your posts and complete clean reinstall is the only safe option.

Did it today.  Really like the autoupdate!

Ok.

I've had an upgrade {auto} go wrong. {so glad I didn't get around to mine, btw, and thank the heavens it wasn't me did this upgrade either!}

Anyway, my question is this.

Can we simply reinstall 2.7.1? Is is as simple as uploading it again, or am I better off upoading the back up which I have in a zip file.

There hasn't been a post published, but there is a draft.

Never has this happen before, so I'm a little unsure which is the best way to go....
