For those of you with iTunes, or an iPod or whatever you prefer to use, this can be a bit of fun, and potentially introduce you to some new music you might not otherwise have found.

So here's what you do. Open iTunes, switch on your iPod or MP3 player and hit random. What are the first 10 songs that play? List them (and no cheating, even if you think it's daggy I wanna see it!).

Here's mine to get things started:

1. Dross - Smashing Pumpkins
2. If You See Kaye (Tell Her I L-O-V-E Her) - Turbonegro
3. Zero-Sum [Stephen Morris And Gillian Gilbert Remix] - Nine Inch Nails
4. Harmless - Helmet
5. Big Girls Don't Cry - Fergie
6. Ghost - Pearl Jam
7. Gigantor - Helmet
8. Who stole the soul? - Public Enemy
9. Skylines and Turnstyles - My Chemical Romance
10. American Gangster - Jay-Z

I didn't have many albums on that computer unfortunately, so the pickins were a bit slim.  First time round on my other machine I got two Grateful Dead tracks, some Tibetan meditation, I think some Guns 'n Roses and a couple other songs I can't remember.

I've got broad tastes in music rsmiley

The random thing was good, I love music and have so many favourites it would have taken hours to make those kinds of decisions! It's really interesting to see what everyones listening to. There are a couple of my 'favourite artists' on everyones lists, cept Mike, can't say I've heard any of your music rsmiley, must check it out!

I'm a convert to the 'infinite content stream' of indie music, and opposed to the DRM cartels. You can listen to new music every moment for the rest of your life and never have to listen to the same song twice. Why listen to the same stuff over and over? Most is incredibly good, however It doesn't matter if it's good or bad because you'll never hear it again. Though I tend to often get a bit of Maxwell Silverthorn in the mix. (That's only because I'm Maxwell Silverthorn). It's the only thing that stays in the player when I reload.

Bit of a mix here

1. Turn Up Your Stereo - Eskimo Joe
2. End of the World - The Living End
3. I´ll be Home for Christmas - Perry Como
4. What´s It Take - Knievel
5. Caracol - Las Favoritas de Gymboree
6. Amazing Race Theme
7. Cumbia de los Muertos - Ozomatli
8. Nothingman - Pearl Jam
9. Sound As Ever - You Am I
10. Deepest Blue - Chillout Sessions

We loaded our entire CD collection onto the Ipod when we moved to Mexico, so there´s heaps there that I haven´t listened to for ages (or ever). Explains why the Christmas and Gymboree music comes up, but I am amazed that no Wiggles or Hi5 or Spanish language lessons were there.
