Quick Intro from Me
«
on:
January 02, 2008, 01:04:10 pm »
G'day all!
I can't believe I only just discovered this forum. I blame the fact that I've been using blogger all these years :-)
Anyhow, a bit of info:
Name:
Naomi
Age:
30-ish
Hobbies
Collecting blogs (eeeek!), knitting, writing fiction, writing 'serious' articles, participating on forums (really!), reading books (mostly sci-fi and fantasy pulp).
Interesting (maybe) stuff about me:
I tend to wear my hair very short (think Sinead O'Connor) and often brightly coloured. I have a samoan armband tattoo. I have an offbeat sense of humour, which I use a lot. Sometimes people laugh. Sometimes I'm unsure whether they're genuinely amused, or laughing because they're shocked and horrified
I had open heart surgery last October.
Howzat?

Hi Naomi, welcome!
I had a look at your site, and I like your fiction-stuff. I'm a sometime writer myself. I hope you've recovered well from the surgery.

Hehe - funny! Although I guess it makes perfect sense, given that there's a link to this forum in that exact post... :-)

I'm sure ther are quite few frustrated would-be fiction writers amongst all of us. I know I'm one. But blogging isn't "next-best". It's just a whole different medium.

Hi Naomi and welcome!
I've always wanted to be a writer - that's what I LOVE about blogging. I can write AND publish and no-one can tell me it's not "good enough" to publish.
I am finding so many aussie blogs I'd never heard of before. How awesome is that????

^^ very true about the publishing! I can't help thinking that this is the way writing+reading is headed... far more computer-based and desire-driven (ie, hits on sites) rather than paper-based and publisher-driven. It'll be interesting to see in action.
I've found heaps of new aussie blogs too... love it!
