Can I do anything about this? On my wordpress dashboard in the 'incoming links' section i noticed tonight that i have an incoming link from a porn blog 'anime shemale' which is extremely rude and revolting for my g rated blog!!! 
Can I do anything to get rid of it or block it?    I think they have also registerd as a user. I can get rid of them but I'm not sure what the protocol is. I would like guests and other interested parties to leave comments on my blog so I have let everyone register but is this what other bloggers out there do or do you only let people register that you know? I'm getting worried that all the people that have registered are porn pervs!!!

I think we all get these seriously unwanted links regularly. In most cases this is spam - did you see it in Akismet or is it showing up as an actual comment?

No, not in spam just in the "Incoming Links" part of my WordPress Dashboard. I'm not sure if it means they've mentioned my site on their blog or what??

Yeah that stuff is pretty sucky.. unfortunately we can't control who links to us..

Nuccaleena - having discovered I am first on the blogroll of an Asian site that runs pictures of girls, girls, girls!!! 

Anyone who is there for a perv and clicks on me would be seriously disappointed.

I have a blogger blog, so unless I go and ban any Asian incoming IPs (which I am not going to do) I just figure they will click away fast enough when they see all those words!!

I don't have time to offer an in-depth tutorial, however one of the most effective ways of 'dealing' with this is to gain an understanding of mod_rewrite on the web server if you have control of this feature. One can redirect anybody who came in via a particular source (gleaned from HTTP_REFERER) to a destination of your choosing. You can also accomplish the same thing in PHP at the beginning of your index.php if you run your own blog software.

Unfortunately, a good number of folks who view lots of porn also use referer blockers but you can redirect a fair number of the novices who haven't bothered to hide their trail. I'd suggest sending them to http://www.afp.gov.au for Australian visitors and http://www.fbi.gov for foreigners.

I used to keep a table of all the parasites that linked to my site(s) at random and quietly send them on their way to something more appropriate to what they were seeking but after a while it became too much trouble to maintain the list (currently just under 1000 leaches) and eventually I just let it go.  Hmmm. There's an idea for a useful WP plugin if somebody wants to run with it.

I just visited the site.
As I subscribed I knew why they had linked to you.
One of my favourite parts of the country.
It has been 7 years since I was there. But so many deserts still to explore!
