When you write a message you might like to use formatting. The icons just above the text box when you write a message allow you to apply some formatting to your writing. Here is what they look like:


We're going to focus on the top line in this topic.

To apply the formatting you highlight the text you want formatted, and then click the relevant button.

When you hover your mouse over a button, it will give you a brief description of what that button does (not in this post, however, as this is just a screen shot).

From left to right the buttons do the following.



B is for Bolding
I is for Italics
U is for Underlining
S is for Strikethrough
G is for Glow
D is for Shadow (which doesn't seem to do anything rwink )
M is for Marquee
Formatting Alignment



The above four buttons allow you to align your text either:

preformatted

left align
centre
right align



The two headed arrow from left to right applies a horizontal line like this below:



The letter A with a two headed arrow from top to bottom lets you increase font size

The change color drop down box lets you change the colour of the font

You will see that when you apply the formatting, code will be inserted into your message like this:
