I just checked my old blog to delete the bajillion spam comments in the mod queue and thought, hmmm what is the PR for this blog?

And it is FOUR!  And my new blog is still at a big fat ZERO.

What on earth am I doing wrong here?  What I have forgotten?  Surely it still is not a matter of wait and see is it?

You need to be sending large volumes of chocolate to the Google Page Rank Monkeys. That or crates of Bud Light. We think you are the greatest PR 0 going. Great value and very funny. Is that enough to make you feel better?

The old one was on Blogger.  Do blogger blogs use the blogger PR or is it calculated individually?  I know that when i was on a subdomain, my blog had the PR of my host.

Some subdomains pick up the Alexa rank though. A Blogger blog that's not heavily trafficked (by Alexa users) usually has an Alexa rank of around 12.

Ahh... yes.  I forgot that it was wp.com.  I knew they didn't pass on page rank.  Wasn't sure about Blogger though.

My old, abondoned blogger blog which only has one post to redirect traffic has a PR of 4.

My WordPress blog has a PR of 0.

Weird thing is that I had my own domain for the blogger blog which is the same one I'm now using for my WordPress blog. When it pointed to my blogger blog it had a PR of 4 ... now ... nothing, yet the blogspot address I haven't used for over a year is the one still attracting a PR of 4.

Bugger.  I am one impatient girl.  Seems the pharmacy people have found both my blogs (Askimet is doing some fabulous work) and I am getting  more and more search referrals so I was wondering whether I was higher than big fat zero and just looking in the wrong places.

Oh, well, will have to settle on being the best nothing that I can be *snort*

As I understand it, PR is actually dynamic - theoretically with every link you get "brownie points", but the visible pagerank (ie the toolbar) changes just 4x per year.

In reality your "authority" is probably not viewed as a "big fat 0" at all. This is why you often see blogs go from a 0 to a 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 (depending on the number and quality of links) with the very first (or second) update of the toolbar after the blog is launched.

So that could well explain why you are coming up higher in the search results (aka "SERPs"), and consequently getting more referrals from search engines.
