I actually came across AdToll last year -- it is a nice Australia based ad broker (think AdBrite) that help web site publishers to sell their ads spaces. They take 25% but they do all the ads serving, stats calculating for you, and list your site in their market place. I was a bit hesitated to give them a try (I was looking for someone to sell ad space for me as I am just too lazy rsmiley because from the rate cards of sample sites, they all seem to have very low eCPM.

Then Jeremy Schoemaker featured them on his blog last week so I thought they can't be too bad. So I signed up a publisher account, create two ad spaces for one of my blogs (700-800 visitors/day niche: shopping) and then used them where Google AdSense used to be...

Two days later and I still have not sold anything (at $0.20/week and oh-can-advertising-be-so-cheap $0.02 CPM!)

Has anyone had any success with this company? Or maybe I should just go back to AdSense?

I've noticed something similar myself, I just joined them last Thursday..  One thing Jeremy did to get his ad cost up straight away and get it booked out for a few months was to actually blog about it.. If he hadn't blogged about it then I doubt many people would've been so quick to catch on...

The main question you need to ask yourself is what was Adsense paying per day, and am I prepared to forgo that till I can generate the same revenue with AdToll?

From an advertisers perspective, the AdToll network is still quite small and until it takes off I think every new blogger will find it hard to sell their spots straight away.. If it does succeed I think it has better value for money for Advertisers than a lot of the other networks out there and the actual costs of placing an ad is a lot clearer and you know exactly what you're going to get and exactly where your company will be represented.. For my company that makes a lot of sense!

Yes maybe I should write about it to increase the awareness.

AdSense earns me infinitely more than AdToll at the moment (actually even 10 cents is infinitely more than $0) but I am keen to run it for a least 2 weeks to see how it pans out. If it does not work, at least I still have AdSense to fall back on.

My current earnings from the CPM ads that are being served by AdToll is about $0.30 in the last 2 days, and yep Adsense was generating a fair bit more than that....BUT, since I posted the article on my blog late yesterday I've had 3 affiliate signups credited to my account so hopefully that will add a little more to the income generated along with my own ad-slots selling..

I think AdToll will be great for monetizing your blog, I just think it might be a slow starter..  At least they update their stats, not like Pay Per Play...grrr...

Well. Right after I blogged about it, I have got 4 banner ads signed up!

HOWEVER, after close inspection of their landing URL, they are all clixGalore affiliate links. My intention was to give out those spaces to the actual merchants to advertise on my site, but it turned out arbitragers took them all (at dirt cheap pricing). Sigh. Don't think it is working for me.

Oh man that's really nasty.. At this point in time I'm not getting much in the way of advertising offers, however I am getting more and more clicks on the CPM spots that are showing..
