I did a post on my What A Load Of Bullshit blog and I then submitted it to Qassia, which I recommend people to join, and it got voted D++, A being the highest (DOH), and these are some of the comments I received.

# I'm guessing you're spending V-day alone.
# Hahahaha....
# Valentine's Day is not just for females.
# not really agree
# YOu have a lot of class (not) Your not getting 'laid' doesn't have anything to do with Valentines Day.

I reckon you can sort of guess which ones are from the women. Damn, I reckon more men should join Qassia as we are being discriminated by the women...lol

Anyway the whole thing was tongue in cheek and I was wondering if only Aussies appreciate this sort of satire.

Well, some people just have no sense of humor.

I often find that things don't translate so well to people from other countries..  xwink

I guess if they didn't actually see the satire tag the perhaps they took it seriously?!!!

Aussies do tend to have a unique sense of humor  xlaugh

Oh I have an email I received yesterday you may be interested in. It's a scam...offering a job as a 'virtual office assistant' but is in fact a money laundering scam from what I can tell....let me know if you want it for your site, I'd be glad to forward it to you!

Cheers, Kelly

Sure Kelly, the email and any info you have regarding it would be great, or perhaps you would like to make a guest post and also use the opportunity to link to your blog?

As for Aussie humor, we're a great bunch aren't we?

Australian humour doesn't translate well, that's for sure.  Insulting the ones you love isn't a universal human trait.  xgrin

The medium doesn't help either, because all the non-verbal cues are missing.  When I first visited your site, the "It's All About Me" post irritated me until I got to the disclaimer at the end.  I guess that's the risk with writing something mockingly that is actually said seriously.  Very murky waters and easily misinterpreted by new readers.

But you have all my sympathy for the discrimination you're facing.  xwink

It's what makes this particular blog so much fun.  xgrin

Some people have the sense of humor that would befit a dead gnat. These people would seem to fall in that category...Aussies appreciate it!

Yeah we Aussies are a pretty good bunch in general. Unfortunately we do have the occasional bigoted bad apple and the guy who commented on this post is a prime example.

I actually deleted the worst of his comments. I even banned his IP but somehow he got thorough. xsad
