Do You Want To Be On The bLogies Commitee?

The poll on whether or not we should form a committee to organise the bLogies blog awards closes tomorrow (7th Feb) at 10:50am so if you have an opinion but haven't voted yet, you'll need to do it soon. VOTE HERE

So far the vote has been almost unanimously in favour.

If you would like to be part of the committee, please let us know in this thread.

The committee would be responsible for making all the decisions (in consultation with the forum members) and managing the entire project (including category selection, voting process, technology used, site design & maintenance) so it will be a big commitment.

If you don't have the time to take on that level of responsibility but still would like to help, let us know that as well. We don't expect the committee to do all of the work as well as the project management so all volunteers will be welcome.

Let's get these bLogies started!

I'm happy to help if I can.  I'm quite illiterate about the techie stuff though, so I'm not sure how I could.

I would be really interested in getting involved with this!  I've got project management experience, web design etc and whilst I never seem to have a surplus of time I think it's something I'd like to make the time for.

I am keen to be involved in any way you would like me to.

I'm popping in and out of the forums a bit less than usual at the moment because I'm on hols (back in Australia - woohoo!) but I'll check back when I can if there' any further instructions...

Looking forward to seeing how this shapes up  xsmiley

I am happy to help out where I can although it does depend on the time commitment involved.

Count me in.  Although I know very little about this kind of thing.  Will that matter?

I'm happy to be involved. I've been involved in organising and sponsorship for industry awards for a few years now.

Being on the committee for this sounds a bit daunting to me so I am offering a helping hand unless you are short of committee members. Then I will put my trepidations aside :-)

So far, the list of who would like to be involved is thus...

Interested In Being On The Committee

Guera
ShadowKnight
Lee
Lani
AndrewBoyd
Leigh

Interested In Helping The Committee

Sueblimely
Jomar
Lightening
Sitemost
Evan
Anonymum
Jasmine

I wasn't sure which role some of the people who responded wanted to play, so if you are in the wrong list, please let me know.

(Note: This list is "expressions of interest" only, not a definitive list of who will be doing what.)

If you haven't responded to this thread yet and are interested in taking part, stick your hand up!  it will be a big job, but a rewarding job too, I think.

Hi Lani,

I've never not wanted to be involved - I've just been a little unsure about the application-design-by-committee process rsmiley

Cheers, Andrew

xsmiley  Andrew, i know it's a project that interests you.  I figure one of the jobs of the committee will be to break down the tasks and allocate them to those who have the skills.  Application design isn't my area of expertise. I would imagine the committe can come up with an ideal "process" but then technology options might limit that, so those with the tech knowledge will be pretty important.

Do you want me to add you to the list?  And which one?

I would love to be involved but I don't have any great technical skills to offer. I'm still learning lots.

But if there is some non-technical aspect that you need help with let me know  xsmiley
