Just when you have upgraded to 2.3.2 and all the dust has settled there is an urgent upgrade to plug a security hole in XML-RPC .

Now you can go upgrade wordpress as normal.

Or maybe you only want to install the critical files that have been changed

Now if you have not upgrade to 2.3.2 the above few files patch will not work you will need the complete upgrade.

Migrating from 2.3.2 to 2.3.3 has no Database change, hence no need to run update.

hate all this, you can always use the Instant Upgrade plugin, personally I have not used it.  But others have, and swear by it.

Awesome, thanks Mr Tunafish. Updating 5 files is a hell of a lot less painful than doing a full upgrade!

Nah, I'm chicken. I just don't like not knowing what's going on. Makes me nervous.

Luckily I've recently upgraded to 2.3.2 so copying a few files will be easy. Thanks for the heads up.

All my blogs who have asked me to keep them updated got the security fix late last night.

We're holding off on the bug stuff - we'll test that first. Sometimes it can cause more problems than it solves..

I have just posted my response on my blog (with a link to this forum thread rsmiley

http://scott.yang.id.au/2008/02/upgraded-to-wordpress-233-coz-of-security-issues-again/

Looking at the source code and it seems to be pretty serious. I guess it has little effect on blogs that do not allow readers to create subscriber accounts, but I know a lot of blogs out there require people to register to comment, and they can be potentially exploited.

Yay, done! Thanks heaps Gary!!

I'm also not game enough to try the upgrade plugin.
I guess I'm getting used to upgrading, though every time I'm still very scared!! But I'm starting to get most of what I'm doing.
