Nimbin – Alternative Lifestyle

Just recently my wife and I went to Nimbin in NSW for a weekend. Nimbin is about 2 hours 45 minutes drive from Brisbane, inland from Byron Bay.We stayed in the YHA Youth Hostel which we find no quite to our taste. During our walk through the main drag of Nimbin around lunch time I was asked 5 times if I wanted to buy some cannabis, which I found a bit disturbing.I have been to Amsterdam, by many considered the weed capital of Europe, and wasn’t approached as often than I have in Nimbin.Nimbin itself is located in a beautiful valley surrounded by high mountains which makes for spectacular views, the shop fronts are very colourful and seem very inviting. It is a pity that a large part of the messages and products on sale are dedicated to marihuana and their attempt to legalise it.

    Gosh you were being polite. I visited there recently and I was disgusted. I thought it was a dump and I used to love it years ago. Beautiful country though, just beautiful.

    I visited Nimbin a few months back and found it to be a strange little town. Like you said, we were offered weed about 5 times within 3 quarters of an hour and a couple of times it was even an ounce, which would have been great if I smoked. I guess a lot of my friends would love this place, but it’s not really my scene.

    I ALSO VISITED NIMBIN OVER CHRISTMAS FULLY AWARE OF ITS Alternative Lifestyle, LILLY AND BM NEED TO LIGHTEN UP NO ONE FORCED YOU TO VISIT OR STAY THERE , JUST DONT VISIT THE PLACE ITS EASY,BUT DONT BAG IT. A+ A+ A+ FOR NIMBIN A BLAST TO VISIT. WILL GO BACK
