The Aussie Bloggers Forum Launch
The Aussie Bloggers Forum had a soft launch on 30 December at 6.00 pm, when the three administrators Andrew, Snoskred and I synchronised posts announcing the project.
Social Networking helped with the launch – Twitter, Bloggerati, StumbleUpon, Sphinn, The Blog Link and the like.
By January 5 we hit 100 members, and doubled that on January 17. We’re now up to 219 members.
It’s been a very busy (but exciting) three weeks for everyone involved, that’s for sure! I for one underestimated the level of activity the forum would attract. By the time this is published we’ll have had over 7,500 messages posted in 690 topics.
Every forum attracts spammers, and we’ve had a couple, but these have been dealt with swiftly and for the most part every one is extremely well behaved. Co-operative, friendly, supportive… just the vibe that we had hoped to create.
The moderators have been doing a wonderful job and many will be contributing here. We’ll also be taking guest posts, so feel free to contact us with any suggestions, or join the discussion in the forum.

Well done to the three admins and if this blog is anywhere near as popular as the forum currently is then it’s a great thing. I’m looking forward to being a contributor to this blog and reading what others write too.
Fantastic! A forum and now a blog – you all work so hard, thanks again
Looking forward to reading everyone’s posts here too

Ohhh…it is really nice to be an Aussie and to see the Aussie blogosphere grow. Well done guys.
I have been quiet because I still just can’t get back into this “have to work” stuff that comes with holidays ending. Why can’t we have a permanent holiday and blog to our hearts delight!!
Congrats guys – I’ll catch you all on the forum soon.

Wow! A whole new blog to play with!
Congratulations on launching the blog!
A big thank you to everyone who has worked so hard to make the forums the wonderful success that they are. It is an amazing resource for all Australian bloggers and something that our community of bloggers had been lacking.
Woo-Hoo! Happy birthday Aussie Bloggers! And to Meg, Snoskred and Andrew: Thanks for going through labour.
You’re all troopers!
Great to see an Aussie blog network, well done on the launch and I am looking forward to reading some great stuff and getting involved in the forums.

Thanks everyone for your lovely comments
Ian – sulk no more
I’m really sorry I missed you. There was a lot of cutting and pasting in compiling that list…

Congrats on getting it all up and running! Thanks for including my link too! I feel so proud!
Can`t wait for more posts…Still thinking about what I could write about!
As a transplanted Australian, I will watch this with interest. I’ve been gone for 48 years but once an Australian, always an Australian. I do follow half a dozen Australian blogs now with Adelaide Green Porridge Cafe and Sue Blimely being a couple of them which are included here.
Good luck with this venture.
much thanks to the admins and mods for all their hard work getting things up and running so smoothly
And congrats!!! On the success of the forum and the launch of the blog
